TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please ensure you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions before booking your activity. By booking & attending an experience you are deemed to have read, understood and accepted them. Do ensure that those accompanying you to the experience is aware of the following Terms & Conditions detailed below. We reserve the right to make amendments to this document without notice.

CONTRACT OF SALE
Booking: All experiences must be scheduled and paid for before attending via our online scheduling system in the 'book now' section. Completion of the booking process and acceptance of our terms and conditions forms your contract with Tribe Pottery Studio (hereafter, referred in these terms and conditions as ‘the Studio’).

Where a named person books on behalf of another group/individual and has not provided specific details for all individual persons in the party at the time the booking was made, then the named person is responsible for ensuring all parties they have booked on behalf of read, accept and abide by these terms & conditions and any subsequent cancellations/liabilities herein.
When a booking is made with Tribe Pottery, the studio purchases the required materials to facilitate this booking and blocks out the allocated time in the schedule, thus preventing any further bookings from taking place for that period. The studio then plans and prepares all tools, equipment needed to enable the booking to run smoothly and ensure every person taking part has everything they need to get the most from the session. This incurs immediate expenses, and as we are a small set-up, we are not able to absorb the losses that occur through cancellations.
It is your responsibility to inform us in advance of any allergies and special requirements a participant may need prior to the commencement of booking. We reserve the right to cancel or change the date of a booking where necessary.

DURATION
The potter will provide a brief demonstration at the start of your experience, and you'll have up to 50 minutes to make four pots, or whichever comes first, totalling 1 hour.

CANCELLATION POLICY
When you book an experience at the Studio, your booking is just for you and the person/s accompanying you including the potter. You have sole use of the studio during your activity and as such, we are unable to fill spots when customers cancel. We're a small independent studio and cancellations will not receive any refund as the potter will have prepared in advance for your booking. If the potter has to cancel, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible and you will be offered another date or e-voucher.

RESCHEDULING
You can change the date after you have booked, however changes will not be accepted if less than 4 weeks notice is given before your activity date as we cannot fill spots once booked. You must rebook a suitable date with the potter within 3 months of your original booking date, after which your booking will be cancelled. If you cannot make your booking with short notice you will not able to reschedule, or receive a refund.

EXPERIENCE REFUNDS
The Studio does not provide refunds for experiences.

UNABLE TO ATTEND
If you are unable to attend your activity because of sickness, emergency circumstances, or a positive covid test, unfortunately, experiences are non-refundable under all circumstances (illness due to Covid-19 included) and cannot be rescheduled with less than 4 weeks notice before your activity date as we cannot fill spots once booked. If you cannot make your booking on short notice, you will not be able to reschedule or receive a refund – no exceptions. You can send someone in your place without incurring a fee, but please note that it is your responsibility to find a replacement person. Let us know in advance who will be attending in your place and ensure they have read and understood all terms and conditions before attending.

LATE ARRIVAL & NO SHOW
Because your booking is private, you must arrive on time to fully participate in the experience. If you arrive 20 minutes late, we can no longer host your experience, and it will be cancelled. You will not be able to reschedule. Not showing up for your activity will automatically void your booking.

ITEMS GLAZED & FIRED
You can either select to do (a) just the experience or (b) have your items glazed and fired by the potter upon booking. If you choose to keep your items, the potter will complete the ceramic-making process for you to collect approximately 8 weeks later.

POSTAGE
You can have your items posted instead of collecting for an extra cost - discuss with the potter on the day. Tribe Pottery likes to recycle, and as such, your items may arrive in previously used boxes. We cannot guarantee your pots will arrive in one piece, as we have no control over the handling process during transit. While we package your items well, Tribe Pottery is not liable for any damage that may occur.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Members of the public use the Studio at their own risk with awareness of the inherent hazards of a Studio environment; which include but are not limited to use of sharp tools and sharp edges plus the dangers of using materials and equipment. All tools and equipment are used at your own risk, the Studio does not accept any responsibility or liability to any damage of personal items or personal injury.

CLAY HEALTH & SAFETY
Clay, in its moist form poses no health and safety issues whatsoever. The clay used in the Studio is non-toxic and does not stain. An apron must be worn in the studio to avoid clothes getting soiled – aprons supplied. Cut long nails down to a short length and tie long hair up, away from face. Long nails can get caught in the clay, which will interfere with your experience.

Do not partake in the Studio's pottery activities if you:
-
are allergic to, or react to clay - the Studio does not accept any liability for any reactions
-
suffer from severe asthma, or have breathing difficulties
-
are due to have surgery or recovering from surgery or broken limbs, fingers, ankle, shoulder injury, spine issues or back strains

COVID-19
Tribe Pottery Studio won't run an activity if we've had a continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss of or change in normal sense of taste or smell, in the last 14 days.
GIFT VOUCHERS (e-vouchers) AND GIFT CARDS
Gift Vouchers and Cards and delivered to your inbox in digital format only. If you purchase or receive a voucher, and/or a gift card, please note that this purchase is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other value. Each voucher/gift card has an expiration date and is valid for 12 months from the purchase date. You need to book and do the experience before the expiration date given with your voucher/gift card. NB: We are a very busy studio, and you may have to wait up to 4 weeks for an open slot when booking. So please ensure you have enough time left to cover this waiting period to avoid losing it. We are usually fully booked well in advance, so if you only have a few days left on your voucher/gift card when we are fully booked, then you have left it too late, and your voucher/gift card will expire. Vouchers/gift cards become null and void after such a period if not used; we cannot book individuals in with expired vouchers/gift cards. Vouchers/gift cards can only be used once for their intended purpose. The Studio does not accept claims for voucher/gift card loss. Vouchers/gift cards cannot be booked on 14 February or Mother's Day.

CERAMIC MAKING PROCESS
If you have chosen to keep your items for the potter to complete, then the following applies: Clay is a natural material and takes time to dry fully; proper drying is a crucial part of the process and massively reduces the risks of breakage and damage during firing. As such, drying times vary throughout the year, dependent on room temperature as well as the size and thickness of your piece. The items you make will be kiln fired at high temperatures; the first firing transforms the clay into ceramic, ready to receive a glaze coating. The second firing melts the glaze onto the ceramic piece.
While we do everything we can to ensure the safe passage of your creations through our kilns to your hands, pottery is a very difficult craft, and we cannot guarantee their survival. Pottery making is not without risk, and inevitably, from time to time, pieces may experience some damage. We work hard to mitigate the risk through teaching good practices during preparation and construction, but given the inherent risks involved in making ceramic objects, we cannot be held responsible for any cracks, faults, or breakages that occur in your finished work.
Please also be aware that while we hope your finished item(s) turn out exactly as you envisioned, there is no guarantee that your pottery will make the entire process and/or result in what you set out to make. Pottery requires a lot of technical processing, glaze preparation, controlled drying, kiln loading and unloading, and two 24- to 48-hour firings to transform clay into pottery. This whole process can take eight weeks or more. If you choose to have your item(s) fired and glazed, be aware that items can break, crack, warp, and even explode during firings. Thick pots take longer to dry, and pots that are too thin or thick may crack. The Studio does not accept responsibility for item damage during this process.
Glazes: We try our best to glaze your items according to your colour choice(s), but please be aware that the glazing process is unpredictable and we have no control over how pots come out during the final glaze firing. Colours may fade, disappear completely, not come out as expected, fail to blend, or react properly. There are many factors that can change the way glazes behave in the final firing, which we have no control over. We cannot glaze the underside of any pot as it will stick to the kiln shelf during firing. So we leave a small gap at the bottom; which is common in the world of ceramics.
You will be notified via text message when your pots are ready for collection. Items are kept for eight weeks after a collection text has been sent, and because of storage limitations, any unclaimed work remaining after this time will be donated to charity. Anyone requiring finished work to be posted will need to discuss this with Tribe Potter prior to attending, as this will be subject to an additional fee.
